Third Hand
A macOS menu bar computer-use tool: press Control–Space and Jev picks the next click or typed text from accessibility labels — no LLM, sub-second.
Third Hand is a macOS menu bar assistant by Shiv Shanmugam. Focus an app, press Control–Space, and tell it what to do.
It reads accessible controls (Apple Vision reads on-screen text locally when needed), then Jev chooses the next click or a literal string from your request. Screenshots stay on the Mac. A TypeSafe API key is required; Apple Intelligence is not.
Run it
Download the latest release for Apple Silicon, macOS 14+, or build from source:
git clone https://github.com/shhivv/third-hand.git
cd third-hand
./rebuild.sh
open "Third Hand.app"
Grant Accessibility (and Screen Recording if controls are missing), add a TypeSafe key, then try something specific like “Search for Adele.”
