Open-source AI email triage for Gmail: Jev sorts 1,000 inbox messages into Needs reply, Updates, Promos, Sales, and Spam in about a minute for 3 cents.

Fazle Rahman (@fazlerocks) built Jevmail, a local Gmail client that sorts mail with Jev, TypeSafe AI's decision model, through Vercel AI Gateway.

  • Trays: Needs reply, Updates, Promos, Sales, Spam — plus a 1–5 urgency score
  • Read-only gmail.readonly: cannot send, archive, or label

Each message becomes a text block (sender, subject, headers, trimmed body). Jev answers three questions in one shot: which tray, how urgent, and whether a human wrote it. Corrections are stored next to the original probabilities.
